Bill Russo is the Shanghai-based Founder and CEO of Automobility Limited, a strategy and investment advisory firm helping its clients to create the future of mobility.  His over 35 years of experience includes 15 years as an automotive executive, including 14 years of experience in China and Asia.  He has also worked nearly 12 years in the electronics and information technology industries. He has worked as an advisor and consultant for numerous multinational and local Chinese firms in the formulation and implementation of their global market and product strategies.

In his current role, Bill advises start-ups, corporations and investors on how to maximise their participation in China’s automobility revolution.  In order to achieve success, he believes they must expand their focus from the product (the automobile) to the utility derived from the product (“automobility”), and create a business model and digital ecosystem optimised to provide digitally enabled solutions for both car owners and mobility services users.

Bill was previously the regional head of Chrysler in North East Asia, where he successfully negotiated agreements with partners and obtained required approvals from the China government to bring six new vehicle programs to the market in a three-year period, while concurrently establishing an infrastructure for local sourcing and sales distribution. 

Mr Russo has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University in New York, and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Mr Russo is a highly sought after opinion leader on the development of the China market and the automotive industry.

Gorazd Lampič is the CEO and co-founder of Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd, a company which has innovated, developed, produced and tested in-wheel motors for passenger cars and other EVs.

In 2017 Gorazd was awarded with the title of Young Manager of the year for the success of Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Ltd. In the past he was also a national champion in mathematics.

He completed the faculty for physics with a thesis on the active galactic nuclei with the use of the Hubble space telescope spectroscopy data. Due to vast interest in electric vehicles, Gorazd then enrolled to a post graduate interdisciplinary study of electric vehicles at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.

Gorazd started to work on in-wheel motors in 2003, co-founded Elaphe in 2006 and took the position of CEO, managing the company’s strategic goals, business decisions, HR policy and IPR development. Under his leadership, Elaphe established itself in the competitive international market and is aspiring to be one of the leading global players in the electrification of the advanced EVs for automotive market.

Elaphe is strongly cooperating with Zhejiang Asia-Pacific Mechanical & Electronic Co Ltd and has also established the APG – Elaphe Propulsion Technologies Co Ltd with them in Hangzhou, where Gorazd holds the position of Vice Chairman.

Gorazd was selected as young manager of the year in 2016.

Dr Yu Lin, professor-level senior engineer, is now engaged in the planning, research, construction and operation of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle (Shanghai) Pilot Zone. In recent years, he has completed 10 projects of the National Science and Technology Ministry’s 863 Project, the National Science and Technology Support Program, and Shanghai’s key scientific research projects. And he has obtained nearly 10 invention patents and more than 20 software copyrights. In 2010, Dr Yu Lin was “Shanghai Rising-Star”. In 2011, he was awarded the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award as the main project personnel of the “Key Technology and Application of Shanghai Expo Intelligent Transportation System”. In 2013, he was awarded “Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader”.

Daizong Liu is China Sustainable Cities Program Director and China Transport Program Director of World Resources Institute (WRI). He has led and managed a number of projects, including Transit Metropolis project partnered with the Ministry of Transport, and local governments like Kunming, Guiyang, Suzhou and Zhuzhou, Low Emission Zone / Congestion Charging project with Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, Road Safety project with China Academy of Urban Planning & Design, and Sustainable and Livable Cities project with Chengdu and Qingdao Development and Reform Commission. In 2013, based on his 10 years’ work experience in transit development in over 10 Chinese cities, Mr Liu established the theory of CSTOUR (Comprehensive Solution for Transit Oriented Urban Redevelopment). In 2014, he was appointed as the Independent Board Member of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group Co. In 2017, Mr Liu was appointed as the member of the third Expert Committee of Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport, and also was appointed as the member of Expert Advisory Committee on Transportation of Guangzhou Municipal Government. In year 2014, he established a non-profit social media platform with WeChat and Weibo public accounts named @SustainableCity, bringing a group of 300 passionate professional volunteers to promote sustainable urban development. The platform has attracted over 50,000 followers today. In addition, he has co-authored two books and published more than 10 professional papers. Since 2017, Mr Liu serves as a chairman of Future Transportation Technology and Policy Section, Transportation Planning Division, World Transportation Convention.

Mr Liu has obtained Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from National University of Singapore, and Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University in China. Prior to joining WRI, he has worked 10 years for China Sustainable Transportation Center of Energy Foundation as a senior program associate, and 3 years for CPG Consultancy Company in Singapore as the transport project manager.

Jeff Liu is Chief Engineer and General Manager at IVTTC (Intelligent Vehicle Tech-Transfer Center) which is co-organised by National Eastern Tech-Transfer Center and Shanghai International Automotive City. He focuses on the autonomous driving and automated transportation system, as well as the new transportation system of future city based on autonomous vehicles.

Mr Stan Zurkiewicz is the Chief Regional Officer of DEKRA East & South Asia and Executive Vice President of DEKRA Group.

Mr Zurkiewicz has been based in Asia since 2002. In 2009, Mr Zurkiewicz joined DEKRA, one of the leading global expert organisations and the world's largest automotive testing, inspection and certification group. He was appointed as Chief Regional Officer of DEKRA East Asia in 2015, and assumed the role of Executive Vice President of DEKRA Group in 2018.

Mr Zurkiewicz has played a key role in establishing DEKRA’s presence across East Asia. In the context of championing Sino-German collaboration, Mr Zurkiewicz actively pursued key strategic initiatives including Internet of Things, Electric Mobility, Connected Car and Autonomous Drive in China and other Asian countries and territories. Under his leadership, DEKRA rapidly expanded through organic and in-organic approach and emerged as one of the most powerful and professional testing, inspection and certification organisations in the clearly defined strategic market segments.

Mr Zurkiewicz holds Master's Degree in Management from University of St. Andrews, Scotland and was recognised as Outstanding Graduate of Global Executive Master of Business Administration at China's top business school – CEIBS.

In the past 18 years, Tao developed rich working experiences and insights in airplane, intelligent transportation, mobile-health, connected-car industry. During 2006 – 2014, he worked for Microsoft as chief enterprise architect in IoT and telematics area.

Tao setup SODA Mobility Tech in 2015. Soda mobility is an innovative company that provide mobility solutions and technologies, deliver mobility innovation fast and often. Exp: multimodal mobility service including station based, free floating, and P2P car-sharing, as well as vehicle subscription service. SODA is exploring mobility innovation in Data insight, AI and BlockChain area.

Tao also showed his passion on nature user interface (NUI) for better in-car driving experience. The author of book <Kinect in Action: talk with machine in natural way> (published 2012).
